Hi

Ive wanted a program that you can save low and hi temps each day of the
month and see them  in graph form as well as on the calender.

After looking online for one and couldnt find what I wanted I decided to write
one would be the best option.

The program can be run using either the mouse or the keyboard or both.

The few files with it need to be kept with the program including the read me file
which can be viewed by pressing  ALT / h  in the main  menu of the program.

this program can open a  saved month  and a compare month so you can
see changes from one month to another.

The Program is pretty big but it does a lot on stuff

Wrote this prog last fall and have been using it for a three or four months and
have had no trouble with it yet.  FAMOUS LAST WORDS   Grin

Hi

Yes its fairly large and took several days to write.

It may not interest most folks but for weather nuts  like me its pretty good
and easy to use.

Hi all,
Have you factored climate change into this?

Hi

No , you add the hi and low temp every day for where you live
into the chart program. these are real temps you add yourself.

Run it and see how it works its pretty cool. You can see them on
the graph or on the calender.

After you have saved a couple months temps you can
load two differant months at the same time to compare any
two months on the graph. You can also see them on the calender.

Personaly I dont beleive man has enough data to know
much about climate change.  The data man has saved
over the last few years is not enough to know if climate change
is happening.  How can I figure in climate change when Im not sure
it even exists.  Weather scientists even argue this point.

Running the prog is best way to see
how it works.

I have never been much on weather monitoring, my self, but thas a pretty impressive program, and would be useful to those that are into keeping
records, on weather changes,etc...

Hi all,
I totally agree that this is a very good program. I do believe that climate change is real. We will always have some of the body disagree with the rest. The truth is as i see it, it doesnt really matter if climate change is real or not. The thing is we are running out of natural resources (oil ,fresh water, food) with our advancemet and population. We need to switch to sustainable energy consumption which happen to be in line with what needs to occur to reduce climate change , or so they say. I carnt wait for the electric car. Less polution is a GOOD thing.

Hi all,
By the way in the 1970's i did weather observations for the Australian Burea of Meterology. After all the rading were note they were encoded in a series of numbers and phoned into the bureau. It was so crude those days. You reset the max and min thermometers , measuerd the wind with a cone that had a hole in it with a sliding lid. Rain was measured in a proper rain guage , cloud was compared to photographs and classes as low, middle and high. Swell was rated by height and direction etc. Although i was young it was interesting , except at 6 AM on winters mornings.

It is posible climate is changing I just dont think there is enough info to
base any conclusions on. whether its real or not.
The data they go on needs to be  recorded from all place around the
world but thats not what they do.  They find select places where the
weather seems favorable to their interest. For instance, the weather where
I live is completly differant where I live vereses 2 or 3 hundred miles from
here.

the only answer to polution is to ride a horse of walk.

I agree we are poluting our world. and walking or riding a horse
is the only answer I see because:

The electric car seems like an answer to some but

where does the electricity come from to run the electric car.
It comes from an electric company who most likley burns
coal or some other fosil fuel.  So we drive electric cars, that
means electric companys have to burn more fuel for us to charge
our batterys so there is no saving in polution there.

When the truth comes out, a gasoline car is actualy no more polutant than
an electric car is.
The differance is we cant see the polution coming out of the electrric companys
plant cause we dont live by them. LOL

Then there is a lose of power transfering electric power over miles
of power lines. so electric company produces larger amount of
electric to over come that.

The electric companys are already over burdened , particularly in summer
when all the air conditioners are running. so we need more fosil burning
electric power to run the electric cars.

Then what do we do with the batterys after they are no longer useable

Recycling the batterys burn more fuel to make them usuable again.
if not recycle then what do we do with them. throw them away in some
dump ?

Its a vicious circle.

And dont get me started on wind or the sun for power.  you would have to
fill the entire earth with  those solar cells to produce half enough electric
to run a small part of the world. People dont realize but solar cells are only
good for about 20 years. and in ten years they only put out a small part of what
they did when they were new. And there is a ton of polutants produced just
to manufacture them. Very toxious polutants as a mater of fact.

Get a horse and buggy.  That will clogg New York city streets in a hurry.

I didnt write this to step on anybodys toes, its must my opinion.

People are in such hurry today, we could stop a lot of polution by driving
40 or 50 miles an hour. and driving cars with 40 horse power instead of
400 and 500 horse power engines.
I remember at some point in the 70,s  55mph became the speed limit and we
got around just fine. I made a trip about 1300 miles  at 55mph during that time.
Didnt seem like a big deal to me.

The old Volkswagons only had 36 horse power and could keep up with the
traffic just fine.

Or yet just  ride a bike or walk.  however im not going no 1300 miles walking
nor on a bike. My legs hardly carry me through Wall Mart anymore.   Sad

Hi all,
I think discussion is very healthy. What i don't like is people telling me that what i believe is wrong. I see a lot of this happen on QB64.net. Here i see friendly discussion. What i enjoy about you Dustie and Garry is we are all around the same age group. We all think similar. Here the 3 of us are building something for its legacy to others and personal self betterment.

I believe you and agree we all have an opinion and respectfully we share in that practice. Thats why im so pleased you shared your opinion. You have both probably noticed i share mine probably more freely than you. Thats my practice. It doesnt mean i am trying to convert you to my way of thinking. Most of the stuff i have learned came from others wisdom. I also geel that people have the right to state their opinion and ,if they wish , not to discuss it any more. We all practice that for many reasons.
On climate change i was originally a disbeliever. Due to mental illness (i couldn't trust my thoughts), i have learnt other ways to seek truth. One particularly good  way is to try to do the opposite of what you believe and see what comes. Its very enlightening. You bring up very valid points. I've seen studies on electric generation converted to electric cars and the savings (environmental) make it practically worthless.
What isnt factored in is new inventions. Silicate solar cells are very toxic. Agreed. Polymer cells arent. They are a viable option. In Australia i know people that put solar panels on there roof. They reduce there bill by between 2/3 to 3/4 on average. These people pump power when they arent using it into the grid. This is a good option. See this url for a new invention that may revolutionise things.
There are many solutions but i doubt there is a clear ONE! Looky at this url please.

Hi

I read the about using polamers.  That might be a big break through
and looks promising for sure..

Im somewhat of apessimist about new things. Not sure why, it just seems
some new ideas today kinda fall by the way side, whethers its because they
didnt turn out right or just it wasnt fessible in some way.

The only problem I have is its a polymer which is a form of plastic. Plastics
dont have a good reputation of being out in the sun very many years before they
start to craze or get cloudy.
They make white plastic fence here in the US, you probably have them there too. They  havent been on the market very long . The manufactureres claim the will last for many years, yet ive seen a couple already getting brittle and cracking etc.

Just hope these new solar cells have a long life time,  thats what will make
them worth while.

They do sound promising.  Wouldnt mind a few in my yard.

Hi all,
They are a break through but as yet suffer from uv degradation. It is something  that is evolving and improving. There is also a aussie company making a solar paint , that makes anything painted into a solar cell. I do believe that we as a humanity will solve these problems.
The way the debate has been conducted over climate change reminds me of witch hunting. If someone is sceptical that means they are unsure. To castigate them for non belief is ridiculous. This polarisation really concerns me as we are dividing into "camps" as a humanity.

  hi

When I was able to work we made molding dies in the machine shop.  New
ideas for making them would come up and we had to look at reasons why
they might not be good ideas before spending tons of money on  making them. Thats not being sceptical its what I call looking ahead.
New ideas were usualy good ones but generaly needed refined before going ahead.

I do think polamar can possibly be improved to last longer. But its best to look that sort of thing before waisting everyones time etc.

Nothing lasts forever so the longer it can be made to last, the less we have to
worry about filling up the land fills when they get to old to function any longer
otherwise we are just spinning our wheels and havent improved on what we
already have.

thats the trouble with new cars and appliances.  they dont last very long cause quality has long gone from manufacturing.  My car is about 10 years old and the front plastic bumper  is already  crazed and looking horrible. I have an 30 year
old pickup and doesnt have any of that kind of problem.
I blame it all on manufacture trying to make big money by selling garbage.
Remember years ago if something broke down, we took it apart and fixed it.
Today most things are made in such a way that there is no way to do repairs
when they break down so fill  up the land fills with them.

Man is more intersted in filling his pockets with
money rather than handing out a good product.

Remember when you went to the bakery to buy doenuts.  you got a bakers
dozen, 13 in all.  Now you get 12, they are much smaller pluss they cost
almost three times more.

To not look ahead is to put put ones head in the sand and hope the problem
goes away.

I guess when I said im pessimestic about it was not meaning it couldnt work but rather
will the makers of the product make it worth while, I was just trying to be realistic.

A sceptic usualy will give up at the first drop of a hat. Same with a pessimest so I
used the wrong word there.  Shocked

I like to make things when I feel up to it and if problems arise I  try to come
up with ideas to make it work. Usualy that doesnt happen if ive taken time to look ahead at why it would be a bad idea then improve on the idea rill it will.

Hope I didnt get to long winded here.

Hi all,
I agree with so much you say Dustie. You me and Garry are from the same times. Our evolution in business has shifted to control of market to exploit profit rather than supply a useful and needed service or device. I believe one day (coming soon) we will start to reach the limits on some of our natural resources.
What i hope is the younger generation will value nature enought to save it. If a maker builds a car that lasts and can be fixed it will probably cost more. But this idea is more sustainable than throw away. It only takes people that believe in something that will convert them into wanting to buy it. This market creation has been routinely done throughout our humanity's existence.
The only thing that could stop this is a caprice where men decide behind closed doors that makeing this extremely hard or impossible is in their interests to continue their wealth creation. It would be smarter to produce a plastic that is recyclable to begin with and create a chain of products to use the recyled objects at every step of the way.
I believe that most people want to do the right thing. They dont get the chance because everything is controlled. Common sense will dictate that if this carnt be done on a big scale then it has to be done individually and then it becomes big scale. I dont think common sense will be defeated. We all want cleaner air. We all want clean drinking water. Its not correct to place that responsibility into the hands of people that have no intention of supplying it.

If I could buy a product that I new I could repair. I think it would be worth a couple
dollars more to use screws or bolts to put it together rather than molding it all
tight etc.  At least I could make it last a couple years or so more. Today if you can
buy something like that , the parts cost more than just replacing it. what a waist!

When I was a kid  60 some years ago, my folks bought a 15 foot long Kelvenater freezer
up to 5 years ago it was still running. and might still be running, I havent see it
since that last time. Oh and it had never been in need of repair. only defrosted once
a year is all.
